The original version of the pilot script was chosen as Best Teleplay at the Spring 2022 Austin Comedy Film Festival and nominated for the Austin Revolution Film Festival.
"Set in suburban New Jersey, the pilot sketches out its backdrop with affection and detail, bringing its main settings to life while also establishing a number of story spheres... there's a palpable tight-knit community feeling in the episode, with a sense that everyone knows each other, and that atmosphere is welcoming and charming. Another strength here is the script's comedy, which is plentiful and entertaining. The script smartly uses multiple kinds of comedy, from physical to character-based to references, and that makes for a well-rounded sense of humor. It's also refreshing to see a show that's unafraid to be silly, something rare in today's television landscape."
